Annunciation Pilgrimage

On the Solemnity of the Annunciation yesterday, we decided to make a little pilgrimage to celebrate this wonderful feast! Father Andrew Gillies, Associate Pastor of St. Ninian's Cathedral, Antigonish, NS, originally from Port Hood, gave us a tour of the cathedral. He also took us to meet the students from the Catholic school in Antigonish, Highland Academy. Then we visited the Monastery of the Augustinian contemplative Nuns, "Our Lady of Grace Monastery" to honour Our Lady on this great day and ask her continued presence in our lives. When we returned home, St. Peter Schola, our parish schola, sang for Holy Mass and the total consecration to Jesus through Mary renewal. When our Convent first opened in 1995 in Port Hood, Sister Aracely gave a course on the Blessed Virgin Mary and Mother Dorothy began a Praesidium of the Legion of Mary. Today the fruit of their labour carries on and this is the fourteenth year of the public consecration to Jesus through Mary according to the method of St. Louis de Montfort which is held so dear to all who came, even some from other Parishes. Please enjoy the photos of our pilgrimage below.
